The wound is the place where the Light enters you.
Rumi
Our bodies are fragile. Pain left its marks all over us. We are coated in scars and we do our best to cover them, to hide them even from ourselves. The pain we endured left us broken and afraid. It made us scared of living, scared of getting hurt again. Some pains were so great that thinking about the past still torments us. We are afraid that more nightmares are yet to come. Therefore, we hide from everything. Even from the opportunities that could help us heal.
What if, instead of covering our wounds, we’d let them wide open to absorb the life and beauty that surrounds us? What if they could actually become windows through which light and love enters?
