The Truth

What does Truth mean? Is it a feeling? Is it a fact? If we look it up in the dictionary most definitions state that truth is the quality or state of being true, real, honest, genuine. Therefore, truth is not relative or changeable. It is something justified, objective. It exists and can be proved.

What is the truth about ourselves? Why, most of the times, is it so difficult to be true to ourselves? Why does truth hurt so bad?

truth > triewthe, treowthe, trywthe (Old English) > trewthe (Middle English) > treuwtho (Germanic) > treuwaz (Proto Germanic)

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person.

Give him a mask and he will tell you the truth.

Oscar Wilde
